Maggy Harrington’s (Forced) Retirement
Magnolia City’s debut month was nothing short of sensational! The grand unveiling orchestrated by Maggy herself was an affair to remember. Her meticulous speech, the refreshing iced tea, the dazzling fireworks, and the sounds of dance music all unfolded exactly as she had envisioned.
Yet, not everything was according to plan. What Maggy hadn’t foreseen was the wave of interest from both people and businesses alike, flooding into the city in numbers far surpassing her team’s projections. The volume was so overwhelming that negotiations with the county had to swiften to extend the city’s boundaries to match demand!
Maggy heard many whispers this month, one of the first being that the city’s resident sewer alligator had been named Louis by Chainy Heart.
While manning the visitor’s center, Maggy’s sharp eyes were treated to quite the spectacle: a tent being unceremoniously whisked away from the rear of GRiLL&GRATE, rumored to be under the ownership of none other than the elusive Sammy DaCosta! One can’t help but wonder, where might Sammy have taken up residence now?
It seems that the mysterious Herman has traveled from the quaint shores of Maine to the bustling streets of Magnolia City. How might he have found his way down? Perhaps his cousin Thurman might know…
Magnolia City experienced its first loss. The unfortunate soul who met their demise in the jaws of a gator in Gator Park is held in our collective thoughts. Meanwhile, the sharp-eyed investigators of MCPD endeavor to unveil the identity of this ill-fated individual. Luckily, the MCPD prevented perhaps another possible incident when Lt. Rumble managed to escort a strangely adventurous alligator from Coffee Time Cafe back to the water.
Jenna Ravenhurst’s Loose Change was the first business to have its grand opening, and what a grand opening indeed! It appears that amidst the revelry and jubilation, certain individuals managed to misplace more than just their inhibitions—clothing seemed to have been an unfortunate casualty of the festivities!
Only a week later, Vic Mornington’s The Caledonian had its grand opening! Vic had not spared a single cent on the air conditioning, and it seemed that as the night went on everyone had turned to dancing rather frantically to survive the sudden Scottish winter the partiers found themselves in!
In a daring defiance of Florida’s less-than-progressive politics, Maggy Harrington had orchestrated a vibrant spectacle across the city: every bridge glowed with hues of the rainbow! This stunning transformation is not merely aesthetic but a resounding statement of inclusivity and pride.
It is amidst this colorful panorama that Gayder, the establishment owned by Mark Onyx, played host to the city’s jubilant pride celebration alongside the lounge’s grand opening event! The festivities unfolded under the sun’s very warm embrace with other local businesses, each demonstrating their support as they set up booths surrounding the event.
Finally, it appears the Florida state executive has finally turned their gaze towards Magnolia City. Rumor has it that Maggy’s outspoken views on LGBTQ+ rights, coupled with her scandalous advice column, have rendered her unsuitable to oversee the city any longer. She has resigned, and a new city manager will be appointed soon.
