Biography

Salty Bob Blake is currently settled in Magnolia City with his wife Daphne Blake, both of whom live in a humble swamp-side bungalow on Murkwood Road. Down the road from his home, he runs a moving van rental and supplies business. Across town, he is building the Magnolia City aquarium, a business he owns and hopes will be a good asset to the community. He is happy with his present situation but does yearn for adventure and fortune. With his former connections to drug and contraband cartels, he is tempted to create his own, or at least get back in the game. The moving van business would make for a wonderful cover, and its convenient location next to a town dock makes it a perfect spot. Perhaps it just might work.

Born in New York on Long Island, "Salty" Bob Blake mainly grew up on the sea. His father was a fisherman, as was his father before him. His whole family, spanning generations back, were all fishermen, whalers, and the occasional smuggler and pirate. So perhaps it was in his blood to continue the family business. In adulthood, offers to smuggle for Colombian cartels in the Caribbean came his way. He accepted the tasks gladly, driven by both fortune and glory, as well as a chance at adventure in life.

With all the wealth piling up, he lived a lavish life. Having money was never a problem in the smuggling business, yet he was always smart enough to save some away for stormy days. Ever the hopeless romantic, he flirted and married many women over the years. In drunken stupors, he could have sworn he married some mermaids as well. In time, the women left him, for various reasons, yet he always yearned for one to love him back as he loved them. Thoughts of settling down one day grew in his head; with maturity comes responsibility, after all. Yet he still scoffed at the idea, his desire for adventure and romance kept him hopping islands and chasing loves.

The stormy day did come for Salty Bob soon enough. The giant sea swells of that storm battered his ship, which barely survived. His own crew blamed Captain Blake's navigation and marooned him out at sea in a small lifeboat. Under a scorching sun, Bob survived for days, only on a small amount of supplies and gear. While fishing for what little food he could obtain, he managed to catch a shark. The shark, however, caught him back after being hauled onto the boat, taking off his hand. Badly wounded, Salty Bob was barely able to survive. Luckily, a Coast Guard cutter boat picked him up soon after.

Safe on land, Salty Bob still had to survive the wrath of the law which finally caught up with him. After reluctantly giving certain information about the cartels he had worked for, he was let go and put into witness protection. He moved to many different cities: Nightingale, Fox Hollow, Woodcrest, Cedar Creek, and New Haven. In each city, he started businesses, seafood buffets and aquariums. These did not last, both due to his bad business skills and the failing economy. His sights are now set on moving to Magnolia City, Florida. He now hopes to settle down in life, create businesses, find a wife, and make a family. However, old ties and temptations for fortune and glory may soon come calling.

For roleplays sake, this history of Salty Bob Blake can be found publicly in various sources and newspaper archives now available to all online. While he was in witness protection, most all of his former enemies are now dead or safely behind bars. Figuring he is now safe he is using his original surname, though still keeping quiet of his history as best as he can. Any past crimes he may have been committed have been absolved in his plea deals. He might or might not be plotting and committing crimes in Magnolia currently or in the future.

There is no real set plotline to his life. He enjoys rolling with the punches and improv through any roleplay. Can happily both para rp or short form.

Limits:
- No Death
- No Rape
- No ERP/Romancing (I am monogamous, and happily married)
- Further dismemberment maybe if discussed beforehand, the loss 1 leg and eye perhaps to look full pirate?
- Torture, discussed beforehand and consider the above limits.
- Ok for being jailed for a decent amount of time for rp of all, though his connections will always bail him out eventually or provides means of escape.
- Prefers no agonizingly slow court system rp, perhaps if people could speed it up? else fade to black? Work on it folks! ;)
